Activity for kid : The floating fish
Let have fun at home,let’s do the floating fish experiment.
Material: whiteboard marker,spoon and bowl with water.
1.Draw a fish on the spoon using a whiteboard marker.
2.Slowly dip in the water.
3.fish is floating in the water. 
Why the fish floats:
1.whiteboard marker ink is non-stick and hydrophobic
•The ink contains oily,waterproof compounds that don’t bond strongly to smooth surfaces like ceramic or metal.
2.when the water is poured,it gets under the ink.
•Because the surface is smooth and the ink doesn’t stick tightly,the water can slide underneath the drawing.
3.Water lifts the ink off the surface.
•The ink film is lightweight and flexible,so it detaches and floats on top of the water.
4.Surface tension helps it stay intact.
•The water’s surface tension keeps the floating ink together in the shape of the fish.
